AUGUST 2020 OVERVIEW

Forgive me for my tardiness, there was just no way I could have done this earlier. August seems to have started strong with appalling news of violent explosions across the globe (Beirut, Russia, even right in front of my home involving a camping stove gone wrong!), so I am very curious to see if the cards match up even if it is in retrospective.

👉 Short version: Governments going to disappoint so more riots ahead, 2020 is after all a year of slow-dragged stagnation as we already concluded. Nasty surprises by the end of the month. The solution lies in making smart money choices and I would kindly suggest you look into Chainlink and Ripple

👉 Long version: Ho boy!

The draw of three cards tells us nothing new regarding the climate of discontent that seemingly all nations are experiencing at the moment regarding authority and institutional trust. The Priestess is the symbol of all things uncertain and mysterious and is followed by The Devil in reverse (a challenge to established norms but usually on a personal level) and The Chariot card inverted (an ineffective display of force, shaming yourself by coming short). These three cards go to say that August is a month of self-evaluation and situations where the individual will question which values has been supporting. Seeing how The Chariot, usually meaning victory by force and popular acclaim, ties with The Devil, it suggests that many anarchistic or otherwise subversive movements and situations will arise after a brief period of uncertainty. It seems to show with how certain countries are currently experiencing shifts in their authority due to the pandemic and other gross negligence.

You really need the Tarot not to know that our governments will disappoint us soon, though.

What comes "without saying" is that if there will be much turmoil in the masses you should prepare accordingly and, as I keep reminding you of, make sure your home is as fire-proof as possible and keep your valuables packed in case you must leave your place for whatever reason. Speaking of reason, no need to panic, this is just as reasonable and wise as writing up a will or making sure your insurance is up to date, so I am not saying there will be danger around the corner - just that an ounce of care is worth a pound of cure.

Now on a weekly basis this month will go a little something like this

 - First week: The Priestess, The Devil inverted, The Chariot inverted. Despite shuffling the cards thoroughly for  each week this exact combination came up and it means that people who have let their guard down are now paying the consequences of carelessness. Too early they have gone out their homes thinking the pandemic, and all the consequences tied to it, were a thing of the past. Neglect and wasteful efforts have been the theme of this week.

Yup, same as before! It happens!

 - Second week: Four of Wands inverted, Three of Golds, Eight of Wands inverted. Fire, Earth and Fire, or rather prosperity accosted by failing authority by each side. It describes moments of happiness but on a personal level, no real motive to celebrate other than the humble joy of getting by in these trying times, followed soon by efforts to rebuild our economies that end in frustrated stagnation. It may be speaking of how small business owners are struggling to stay afloat and that it is not yet the moment to think big.

 - Third week: Ace of Swords inverted, Knight of Cups inverted, The Tower. Not good. It speaks how it will come a moment where clarity is confused with cruelty, where a perfect situation to take the right decisions is used instead of damage opponents, which results in a cascade of overreaction that ends in the collapse of established institutions or, more accurately, the trust in them. We will see yet another poor display of power by governments or those who oppose them that will erode whatever trust there was. My American friends are bound to see this in the power play that precedes the elections in November. My Spanish friends are surely seeing this in how our erstwhile head of state has single-handedly tarnished Spain's constitutional monarchy's reputation again.

 - Fourth week: The World inverted, Six of Cups inverted, Death. Seeking the easiest way out of personal problems a lot of people will experience tension in their families and stagnated nostalgia. Deep transformation awaits us all, the end of a cycle but with the guarantee of continuation, but not without risk, costs and pain. All in all it means that by the end of this month desperation might take hold of us and create rifts in those close to us, and may be followed by loss in the family. Be ready to assume that possibility but above all, please bite your tongue on political matters. No matter how right you feel about this or that unity must prevail despite the infuriating opinions floating about in your family, you will need each other across this year!

So how do we deal with these warnings? The draw of six suggest solutions or at least ways to mitigate any incoming problems.

1.- The nature of this situation is that of the Seven of Swords: Whatever happens it will begin with betrayal. A sense of calculated loss is afoot, possibly disappointment.

2.- The circumstances leading to this are that of the Six of Swords: Isolationism and the need for release. We were caught trying to heal and remove ourselves from the current turmoil.

3.- The external influences are defined by the Six of Wands: The notion, or the need, for success has influenced the current situation. Makes me think of how we were all hoping for closure on the Covid-19 pandemic and how many let their guard down too soon.

4.- One ending will come as defined by the Five of Cups: Regrets and a sense of failure brought by missing all the good things that we still have going on for us. There is a high chance of ruin around the corner but thankfully it is mostly emotional and misleading. If it comes to that you must keep in mind it is all in your head and move on.

5.- Other ending than can happen per the Page of Golds: If you play your cards carefully you may yet find an opportunity for wealth in the upcoming days. How and where is something that is pretty much tailored to our own personal circumstances, there is no straight answer, other than you might want to look up cryptocurrency as Chainlink and Ripple seem to be about to rise.

6.- The pivoting point is represented by the Eight of Golds: The difference between each ending lies solely on the economical this month. Whatever you do you must focus on preserving what you have and seeking out some personal reinvention, as this card represents apprenticeship and acquiring skill, not the beginning of a project. We should all look into what new future professions seem to be booming right now, most of them focused on programming as far as I can tell.
